Do you have a passion for the Arts and wish to turn your dreams into reality?

The Franken Arts Bursaries (FAB) [formerly FFFF trust] is offering art scholarships to students who are currently in years 7 to 11 of their schooling who have a real desire to further a career in the arts. 

In order to be eligible for these scholarships you must be: 

  • Resident in the Eastern Suburbs of Wellington ( Eastern Ward WCC ) 

  • In years 7 to 11 of your schooling on 30 September 2025

  • Available, if required, for interviews by the selection panel 

  • Available, if required, to perform your chosen art at a public performance in October or November 

  • Supported by your teacher or community constable in making this application. 

    Please Note: 

  • Preference will be given to candidates who do not have the financial means to make further study a reality. 

  • The decision of the selection panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

  • All scholarships will be paid directly to the winners. 

  • It is envisaged that three scholarships will be awarded annually. 


If you wish to apply, please fill in an application should include your full name and residential address, phone and Email contact details, parental consent, details of your art with supporting evidence of achievements (any colour entries should be hard copy or evidence on an separate stick or flash drive to give judges fuller appreciation for initial selection). We also encourage you to look at our FAB Brochure for schools.


2026 Report

An other successful year where 3 young artists gained assistance to their future dreams by winning

  • $3,500 for Amelia Steen Guldborg (piano)- incidentally two of her older sisters have previously won this award, meaning that FAB has supported this family by over $10,000

  • $2,100 for Lotta Leonhardt (hip-hop)

  • $1,400 for Rosie Buyk (flute and drums) congratulations, she entered 4x

FAB remains thankful to:

  • EBIS for providing the judges as well as their Arts teacher Ms Boolieris and the website for information

  • The Brentwood for sponsoring the judge lunch

  • John Makowem as hon. Treasurer and for financial advice

    All FAB 5 trustees have been ‘through’ EBIS. The total payouts since the beginning are over $70,000 so far

The competition details for 2026 remain the same as before, clearly stated in the brochure available from schools, the EBIS website, libraries, community and CAB centres in the Eastern Suburbs.
