Wellbeing

At EBIS we are here to help our students both be happy and be the best person they can be. We have a team of skilled and passionate professionals who love working with young people.

HOW CAN WE HELP?

Our counsellor and youth social workers can provide students a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk through and get support for any problems that are worrying them.

Being Well

At EBIS, we want all of our students to be happy and well so they can make the most of their time at school and have positive, healthy relationships. We recognise that being well and Wellbeing means taking care of, and supporting young people’s physical, mental and emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of health.

This is wellbeing or Hauora.

WHAT'S HAUORA?

Hauora is a Māori philosophy of health unique to New Zealand. It comprises taha tinana, taha hinengaro, taha whanau, and taha wairua. Each of these four dimensions of hauora influences and supports the others.

SOMETIMES WE DON'T FEEL OK

  • Sometimes our thoughts and feelings can be overwhelming.

  • Sometimes we need some more help to manage our mental health.

  • Sometimes we have problems.

  • Sometimes we are the target of bullying or harassment and we need support to make it stop.

  • Changes in our sleeping pattern, eating habits, mood or thoughts that persist for more than two weeks might need some attention.
